The degree in medicine takes six years to complete. In German-speaking Switzerland, admission to medical school is restricted (numerus clausus) and requires an aptitude test. The course of studies offered in Bern has been reformed in the last 10 years. It is now very problem and practice-oriented. Much of the students’ time at university is spent working in small groups or directly with patients. All information about studying medicine at the University of Bern can be found at studmed.unibe.ch.
